Turn $1 into $2 with your gift card purchase!
When you buy a gift card from a qualifying business in Keith County, the business will receive a dollar-for-dollar match from the City of Ogallala LB840 fund. What Businesses Qualify For This program?
The program is designed to assist businesses most negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, such as retailers (boutiques, gift stores, etc.), restaurants and bars, and service providers such as salons, photographers, dog groomers, etc. MLM businesses are excluded at this time.
We encourage consumers to think about those businesses that have been greatly impacted!

Do businesses outside of ogallala qualify?
YES – the program applies to all qualifying businesses in Keith County.
Where do i get the proper forms/applications to participate as a business?
All required forms can be found in the packet here on this page (Download the REQUIRED Enrollment Documents for Participating Businesses). Please complete the sections highlighted in yellow. If you have questions, please call the KCAD office at 308-284-6623.
When and where do i need to turn in my match documentation, forms, etc.?
All forms and proof of gift card purchases need to be turned in to the KCAD office no later than Tuesday, January 5, 2021. See the included calendar in the Program Information and FAQs for Businesses above.
Matching funds are available for gift cards purchased on or after December 14, 2020 thru January 5, 2021. None sold prior to December 14, 2020 are eligible.

How much money can a business receive from this program?
Eligible Keith County businesses can receive up to $1,000 in matching funds from the City of Ogallala LB840 fund. Businesses must:
- Submit signed application to KCAD by Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
- Track gift cards sold in store, online, or via the phone.
- Provide proof of purchase for gift card sales.
Who receives the match money from the LB840 fund?
The funds go directly to the business, not the customer purchasing the gift card.
when can gift cards expire?
Gift cards/certificates cannot expire within 5 years of purchase per federal law.
How can i purchase gift cards without going into a business?
We encourage all consumers to either call the store directly to purchase over the phone or check out their website for gift card options. You can also use the Participating Business Tracking Sheet here on this page to find out how to purchase gift cards from specific participating Keith County businesses.
if i am married to a business owner, can i purchase gift cards for this program?
Gift cards purchased by immediate family members do NOT qualify for matching funds under this program. Please – if it doesn’t feel right, don’t do it!

Complete the form that is embedded on this page to let customers know you are participating and provide instructions on how they can purchase gift cards or gift certificates.
How can i advertise to customers that my business is participating in the program?
- Fill out the form on this page to be added to the list.
- Print out the program flyer and display it at your business.
- Share information about the program on your business webpage or social media page.
- Spread the word to your customers!
Will i be responsible for taxes on the matching funds from the city?
As each business is different, we recommend you contact your accountant for guidance on tax implications.
